Job summary

Gradian Thermal Solutions, based in Maple Grove, MN, seeks a Sr Certification Engineer to lead product certification and regulatory compliance across liquid cooling, air handling, and chiller lines. The role translates standards into design inputs and coordinates testing, agency submissions, and audits to ensure market access.

The ideal candidate has seven+ years in certification with knowledge of UL, IEC, AHRI programs, and a strong track record in cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Seven+ years in product certification, product safety, regulatory compliance, HVACR, or related field.
• Experience with UL, cUL, CSA, NEC, NFPA, and NRTL processes; ability to apply standards to complex electromechanical products.
• Ability to read schematics, layouts, BOMs, P&IDs, and installation docs; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Willingness to travel periodically to labs, suppliers, and customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Own certification strategy, scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for new products and changes.
• Coordinate tests, agency submissions, audits, and documentation; manage findings and retests.
• Develop and maintain certification records, declarations, and compliance matrices with traceability.
• Interface with labs, bodies, customers, and suppliers to secure and maintain market access.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts; participate in relevant industry committees.
