Job summary

Gradian Thermal Solutions in Maple Grove, MN, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to serve as the technical authority for controls architecture, design execution, and lifecycle support for liquid cooling and air movement products.

This role owns end-to-end delivery of complex controls solutions—from requirements definition and risk assessment through detailed design, validation, commissioning support, and field issue resolution—while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical/computer engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive controls engineering experience with end-to-end delivery.
• Strong industrial networking knowledge (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, BACnet).
• Ability to lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across systems.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and interfacing with customers.

Responsibilities

• Own controls scope for assigned programs, translating requirements into robust architectures.
• Define and maintain platform standards for PLC/HMI, I/O, and networking.
• Lead design and implementation of control panels, sequences, and software.
• Develop verification plans; oversee testing from bench to system level.
• Serve as escalation point for complex troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, refrigeration/thermal, manufacturing, QA, and suppliers.
