Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating programs, events, and recreational activities, including work with senior community members.
• Knowledge of public relations and media utilization for events.

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain files on organizations with potential for utilizing City facilities.
• Establish contact with representatives of local civic groups to generate interest in events.
• Create monthly activity calendars and coordinate activities for the Department of Human Services senior centers.
• Lead or support management of special events for the division.
• Prepare and present information to groups to promote City facilities for large events.
• Maintain administrative procedures and records for scheduled activities.
• Develop programs for facility utilization to generate revenue.
• Represent the City in supervising special activities.
• Collaborate with Public Relations Manager to develop media contacts, draft and distribute news releases, and prepare post-event reports.
• Perform related duties as required.
