Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a field inspector to join the CEI team, performing complex to routine construction inspections at project sites. You will evaluate materials, methods and compliance with plans, specs and provisions, using specialized equipment and calculations as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, relevant certifications, a valid driver’s license and 6 years of related experience. Domestic/international travel may be required to support multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency varies by project.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and processes meet plans, specs, and provisions.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under limited or direct supervision depending on assignment knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
