Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least four years of progressive transportation technician experience with a State Highway Agency or consultant.
• Experience inspecting roadway and bridge construction projects is required.
• Experience serving as a lead inspector and coordinating inspection personnel is essential.
• Pass appropriate GDOT qualification tests (Group 1, Group 2, Group 3) as necessary within specified time frames.
• Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining inspection reports and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced-level construction engineering inspection for roadway and bridge projects.
• Conduct materials sampling, inspection, and testing to verify compliance with project requirements.
• Serve as Lead Project Inspector and supervise lower-level inspectors.
• Monitor construction processes for compliance with plans and contract requirements.
• Perform contract administration duties including field measurements and documentation.
• Participate in meetings and support project close-out activities.
• Assist with administration and management of locally administered projects.
