Job summary

CDM Smith’s on-site Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection team seeks an Inspector to monitor project site activities across multiple locations. The role focuses on roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion & control, and maintenance & traffic inspections with supervision adjusted to experience.

Travel may be required up to 40%. This pipeline position supports CDM Smith’s CEI team in delivering designs and construction oversight for federal, public, and private projects while

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, concrete may be required by client/jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Equivalent additional related experience can count toward the degree requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and methods conform to plans and provisions.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspection tasks.
• Work under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
