Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation CEI team seeks an on-site Inspector to monitor highway construction activities at project sites. Responsibilities include performing complex inspections, reviewing drawings, and documenting results under varying supervision. Candidates should have 12 years of related experience, valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity such as ACI or NICET may be required by the client/ jurisdiction.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
12 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on duties.

Responsibilities

Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate materials and processes conform to plans and specs.
Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
Work under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge.
Review drawings in preparation for inspections.
Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
