Job summary

CDM Smith’s Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection team seeks a field inspector to monitor highway construction at project sites across multiple locations. You will inspect materials and processes to ensure adherence to plans, specs, and provisions, and contribute to project success.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, performing complex inspections, and documenting results while communicating findings to supervision.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI if required by the client.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and construction meet plans and specs.
• Use specialized equipment and perform calculations for construction inspection.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections and document results.
• Communicate inspection findings to the supervisor and team.
