Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Inspector to support the CEI team across multiple project locations. You will perform complex and routine inspections, ensure conformance with plans, and review drawings to prepare for field activities.

The role requires extensive knowledge of highway construction, ability to lead junior inspectors, and travel up to 40%. A valid driver’s license and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI certifications if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may substitute for degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency depends on duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use advanced inspection equipment and perform complex calculations.
• Work under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
