Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Category Merchant Manager III in Seattle to own a significant portion of a category's performance. You will develop strategies, manage vendors, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize customer experience and growth.

You will navigate ambiguous challenges, analyze data, and influence outcomes across teams, balancing short‑term wins with long‑term value while mentoring others in best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or above.
• 5+ years of business development, account management, product management, project management, financial analysis and/or marketing experience.
• Experience leading analysis, customer segmentation and/or product behavior analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies by analyzing financial performance, market trends, and customer insights to maximize growth and profitability across your category portfolio.
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including negotiating terms, evaluating performance, and ensuring alignment with category objectives and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams — such as marketing, supply chain, finance, and product — to drive category initiatives, remove blockers, and deliver results against business plans.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects by identifying risks, presenting multiple solution paths to leadership, and making informed trade‑offs between competing priorities.
• Mentor and develop team members while modeling best practices in category management, process improvement, and the responsible use of analytical tools including generative AI.
