Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. has an opening in the Claims Division as a Senior Claims Examiner, Casualty for the Middle Market Casualty Team.

You will manage commercial claims for high severity and complex GL, with travel across the U.S., using strong negotiation and technical expertise. The role requires 7–10 years of casualty claims experience, active adjuster licensing in all applicable states, and a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the office).

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of casualty claims experience with primary or excess carrier.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.
• Hybrid in-office schedule: 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess coverage issues; draft letters and retain counsel as needed.
• Develop and implement strategy for coverage issues aligned with matters.
• Create timely resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposures.
• Maintain contact with claims carriers, underwriters, counsel, and managers to communicate developments.
• Investigate claims and review insured materials and pleadings.
• Review jurisdiction statutes, rules, and case law.
• Review litigation materials including depositions and expert reports.
• Retain and direct counsel per resolution strategy.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages to support reserves.
• Prepare reports for senior management on issues and reserves.
• Travel to mediations, trials and other proceedings.
• Negotiate resolution of claims and maintain diaries of claims.
