Job summary

HUB International, SPG Cargo & Logistics, is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Specialist to join its Claims & Recoveries team. You will investigate, evaluate, and manage a diverse portfolio of cargo and transportation-related claims, including marine cargo and warehouse liability.

The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret policies, coordinate with insureds, brokers, surveyors, and counsel, and pursue salvage and subrogation opportunities while maintaining reserves.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of insurance claims-handling experience, preferably involving marine cargo, stock throughput, inland marine, commercial property, or transportation-related claims.
• Strong understanding of insurance policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and claims management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently investigate, evaluate, and manage assigned cargo and transportation-related claims from first notice of loss through final resolution.
• Handle claims involving marine cargo, inland marine, stock throughput, cargo legal liability, and related products.
• Review shipping documents and coordinate investigations with insureds, brokers, surveyors, and counsel.
• Negotiate settlements and resolve claims in line with policy and authority.
• Maintain reserves and claim notes in the management system.
