Job summary

TerraBella Newton is seeking a Care/Medication Technician to provide hands-on care in a home-like setting for residents across daily living activities and medication administration. You will support residents with meals, mobility, hygiene, and personal care while maintaining safety and respect.

The role emphasizes compassionate service, documentation of changes in condition, and collaboration with nurses and the health care team to deliver quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse’s Aide certification preferred.
• High School diploma/GED.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• First Aid Certification preferred.
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for a designated group of residents during the shift; monitor their wellbeing and check on them throughout the shift.
• Observe, report and document changes in residents’ conditions (skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary, activities).
• Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells.
• Assist with continence management and sanitation of resident suites and community restrooms.
• Serve and assist with meals; report refusals or loss of appetite.
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating).
• Engage residents in life skills and enrichment activities.
• Greet and assist residents, guests, family members, vendors and team members.
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.
• Counts narcotics with nurse/manager each shift.
• Restocks medication cart and maintains medication room.
