Job summary

Summer Search in Chicago IL is seeking a Lead Career Navigator to supervise two Career Navigators and coach apprentices in partnership with Aon.

You will support career readiness, track progress, and develop Success Agreement Plans while coordinating monthly manager communications for ongoing collaboration.

This exempt role requires 5-7+ years in workforce development, strong relationship building, and a commitment to equity and youth empowerment.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in workforce development or career advising.
• Strong relationship building and reliable communication.
• Ability to manage multiple workflows and projects.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and equity-centered workforce development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach a team of Career Navigators.
• Provide professional development and training on mentoring and equity-centered practice.
• Travel to partner offices as needed.
• Conduct intake assessments with apprentices and managers.
• Meet regularly with apprentices to support readiness and growth.
• Track engagement and maintain case notes.
• Develop individualized Success Agreement Plans with apprentices and managers.
• Coordinate monthly check-ins with apprentice managers.
• Support recruitment and engagement activities for the Apprentice program.
