Job summary

THERAPEUTIC ALTERNATIVES INC. is seeking an experienced supervisor to assist the ED/Administrator in managing the home’s operations and staff. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with licensing, and taking full management responsibility in the absence of the ED/Administrator.

You will follow medication policies, participate in QA programs, attend care plan meetings, and maintain resident safety and dignity. Strong supervisory and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of six months supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, understand and follow directions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire or ability to obtain.
• C.N.A./Personal Care Aide and Medication Aide certifications required within specified timelines.
• No substantiated findings on NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program; SBI clear.
• Two-step TB skin test within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility medications policies and procedures.
• Note and report medication administration errors.
• Develop and implement procedures to reduce medication errors.
• Complete administrative forms, charts and reports as required.
• Participate in QA programs and facility committees affecting medication pass.
• Attend Care Plan meetings and continuing education programs.
• Ensure safety precautions are followed and hazardous conditions reported.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living per Care Plans.
• Maintain resident dignity and safety; work cooperatively with staff, families and visitors.
• Coordinate coverage for call-ins and adjust work schedule as needed.
• Ensure training records are up to date and staff orientation completed.
• Monitor halls, respond to call lights and alarms promptly.
• Ensure care plans for residents are implemented and medications stored properly.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians and pharmacists.
• Report complaints or grievances to the Administrator.
• Be familiar with resident rights and support their exercise of rights.
• Assist in evacuation planning and emergency procedures.
