Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Registered Medication Associate (RMA) for our Front Royal community. You will assist in administering medications, monitor residents, and document changes to support safe, quality care for seniors.

Required: certification as a Resident Care Associate, knowledge of safe medication practices, and the ability to work weekends and varied shifts. A compassionate, professional demeanor and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed coursework and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate.
• Must obtain continuing education credits as required by the state to maintain certification and provide evidence on request.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of safe medication administration techniques through competency evaluation.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain as per policy.
• Understand and practice resident confidentiality.
• Ability to work weekends and flexible hours for resident care.
• Show sincere compassion and genuine concern for residents and families.
• Proficient in basic office equipment and computer use.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and state standards when administering medications.
• Administers and records medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Presents medications to residents and observes ingestion or other administration techniques.
• Documents and reports adverse reactions and communicates with the Resident Care Director as needed.
• Maintains medication inventory and safety checks across shifts.
• Documents pertinent information in resident records and daily logs.
• Maintains infection control practices and universal precautions.
• Communicates accurately with residents and staff and seeks guidance when needed.
• Performs duties to maintain a safe, clean environment and supports resident well-being.
