Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is hiring a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. Duties include basic health care tasks, vital signs, and documenting outcomes per plan of care.

Emphasis on safety, compassion, and maintaining a positive dining and activity experience for residents. The MA will assist with transfers, mobility, and routine care, including medications within their scope.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Annual continuing education and state certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, vital signs, and outcomes; report changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and supervision of dining and activities.
