Job summary

American Senior Communities is seeking a Cook/Culinary team member for our Riverview Village location in Indiana. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals while upholding sanitation and food safety standards for our residents.

The role includes following recipes, leading kitchen tasks, and ensuring a clean, compliant work area. Prior healthcare or institutional food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience or equivalent.
• Preferred: Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling, may be earned while employed.
• Preferred: Prior Institutional and/or Healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares palatable, nutritionally adequate meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during preparation and service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies per procedures and state/federal regulations.
