Job summary

Good Samaritan Canistota is seeking a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. The role includes administering medications as delegated, taking vital signs, and supporting activities of daily living.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education annually based on state requirements.
• CMA certification must be maintained with the state nursing board.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Record vital signs and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, meals, and routine activities.
