Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. Responsibilities include medication administration, vital signs, and supportive care to enhance quality of life.

The role requires CMA certification (CMA/TMA as required by state) and a commitment to compassionate, Christian-based care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• CMA certification required for Good Samaritan facilities; CMA/TMA as applicable in each state.
• Active CNA registration or ability to obtain CMA/TMA within 120 days where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within scope of practice.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity and dietary.
• Communicate changes in condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion exercises, and assist with meals and dining.
