Qualifications

• Compassionate disposition and a desire to serve; prior experience not required.
• Ability to fulfill both the physical and emotional needs of residents.
• Direct-Care or other state-specific certification required, or willingness to obtain.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain per policy.
• Upholds resident confidentiality.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, to ensure resident care and services.
• Demonstrates sincere compassion and concern for seniors and their families.
• Proficient with basic office equipment and PCs to maintain performance.
• Aligns with Commonwealth Senior Living's mission of improving lives.

Responsibilities

• Directly assist residents with daily tasks and communicate care changes to the Resident Care Director.
• Assist residents with mobility using proper techniques and equipment to prevent accidents.
• Conduct routine care rounds per individualized care plans.
• Assist with lifts, moves, and transportation using safe body mechanics and devices.
• Maintain skin integrity and prevent pressure ulcers through proper care and hygiene.
• Document daily care activities per policy and regulatory standards.
• Report resident issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Respond courteously to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff.
• Familiarize with residents' care plans and provide appropriate support.
• Share observations to inform care planning and resident needs.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, staff, and supervisors to foster a homelike environment.
• Provide physical, emotional, and psychosocial support to residents and families.
• Respect residents' rights and report any incidents.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures and maintain a safe workplace.
• Attend required trainings, in-service sessions, and staff meetings.
• Maintain regular communication with the Resident Care Director.
