Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT seeks a qualified CAM applications engineer to join the CAM Deployment team. You will develop NC programs for multi-axis milling, integrate NC verification with CGTech Vericut, and drive process improvements across design and manufacturing.

The role requires strong Siemens NX and NC programming experience, knowledge of NX post configurator, ISV tooling, and a US citizenship due to government contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of related experience in manufacturing engineering.
• 5+ years programming lathes, mill-turns and multi-axis mills using Siemens NX.
• Strong working knowledge of CNC controls (Siemens, Fanuc, Okuma OSP, Heidenhain, Allen Bradley) and macro programming.
• Advanced knowledge of high-speed machining techniques and toolpath optimization.
• US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAM application solutions for process development on new product introduction.
• Support cost reduction of mature product through improved part processing time using CAM technology.
• Integrate closed loop methodology with on-machine probing and data collection.
• Provide analytical recommendations to optimize programs and machine tool capabilities.
• Lead NC verification using Vericut and NX ISV tools.
• Develop standard methodologies and workflows for CAM discipline.
• Support NX post Configurator ISV transition projects with internal customers.
• Assist with model-based definition related to CAM using Teamcenter MRL and shop floor connect.
• Support legacy CAM tools and plan modernization or retirement as needed.
• Participate in NX release testing and data migration activities.
