Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced CADD Technician for our Structural Engineering team in Buffalo, New York. You will provide CADD support, draft design documents, and collaborate with engineers to deliver precise, standards-compliant drawings and materials lists.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of drafting experience, strong knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 7+ years of post-education drafting and design support experience.
• Knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, processes.
• Familiarity with codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
• Ability to perform technical computations using geometry and plans.
• Strong written and verbal communication for a technical audience.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with attention to detail.
• Experience with safety policies and project schedules.
• Willingness to travel occasionally if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide CADD support and generate design deliverables for projects of moderate scale.
• Create accurate drawings, reports, manuals, plans, profiles, and material lists.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve design details and discrepancies.
• Apply geometric dimensioning, tolerancing and calculations to ensure constructability.
• Verify calculations and interpretations of contract plans against specifications.
• Work with cross-functional teams to execute project tasks.
• Ensure designs comply with city, state, and client standards and regulations.
• Prepare multiple design versions for review by engineers.
• Coordinate with client and contractor personnel as needed.
