Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced BIM/CADD Specialist to support transit and multimodal projects from offices across the US. You will coordinate intelligent models across architecture, structures, transportation, roadway, and MEP to deliver federated, clash‑checked deliverables.

The role emphasizes modeling coordination, vendor/agency standards, and mentorship of junior staff, with travel as required by project demands and opportunities to contribute to BIM Execution Plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP into a single federated model.
• Model coordination & clash detection; run clash detection and resolve conflicts.
• Standards & governance; establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards and workflows.
• Mentorship & guidance; mentor production staff and provide design sketches for drawings.
• Acts as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to ensure coordination during project lifecycle.
• Performs crosscheck of drawings for consistency and adherence to QC standards.
• CADD/technical tasks: verify model integrity, manage versioning, ensure interoperability across Autodesk and Bentley tools.
