Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Tech IV near NSWC Crane to provide drafting and documentation support. You will create and update Technical Data Packages, collaborate with engineers and technicians, and ensure rapid, accurate design changes.

Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD tooling is essential, with experience in SolidEdge and PDM preferred. The role requires a strong attention to detail, ability to work independently or in a team, and compliance with drawing standards and ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5 years drafting/electrical/mechanical experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD software and PDM configuration.
• Knowledge of ISO procedures and drawing standards (ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000).
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks and occasional other CAD software.
• Works with Customer, Engineers, Technicians and CAD Operators to capture design, revise documentation and attend meetings.
• Works independently as well as in a team to implement design/documentation changes.
• Delegates tasks and advises team members while maintaining quick decision making under pressure.
• Maintains configuration management of tasking, files and correspondence to complete tasks quickly and orderly.
• Uses Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other tools for design development and verification of first articles.
