CAD Drafter III — Solid Edge Pro with DoD Clearance

Job summary

SAIC in Indiana is seeking a drafting support specialist to assist NSWC Crane teams with creating and updating Technical Data Packages using Solid Edge. You will produce detailed drawings and communicate with engineers, technicians, and customers to capture design intent.

Applicants should have an AS/BS in a related field (or HS diploma with 3+ years of experience) and hands-on CAD experience; familiarity with ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000 and related standards is preferred; DoD Secret Clearance

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in related field; or HS diploma with minimum 3 years related experience.
• Experience with Solid Edge; 3D CAD software required.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Creates and modifies detailed drawings using Solid Edge CAD Software.
• Works closely with Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design.
• Works independently and as part of a team to implement design and/or documentation changes.
• Uses measurement tools (calipers, gauges, tape measure, ruler) to aid design development and verification.
