Job summary

SAIC is seeking a drafting/documentation specialist to support NSWC Crane. The role focuses on creating and updating Technical Data Packages using Solid Edge and other 3D CAD software, with an emphasis on precise, professional correspondence.

You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other CAD operators to capture design details, produce detailed drawings, and verify first articles using mechanical measurement tools. Strong attention to detail and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in a related field, or HS diploma with 3 years related experience.
• Solid Edge experience is desired; 3D CAD software experience required.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed drawings using Solid Edge CAD software.
• Collaborate with customers, engineers, technicians and other CAD operators to capture design.
• Work independently and in a team to implement design/document changes.
• Use calipers, gauges, tape measure, ruler and other tools for design development and verification.
