Job summary

Lumicity in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior C++ Robotics Software Engineer to build and deploy critical onboard software for autonomous vessels operating in real-world environments.

You will own onboard software architecture, runtime infrastructure, and system integration, collaborating with a highly technical engineering team to tackle challenging C++, Linux, networking, and robotics reliability problems, including sea trials and customer deployment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, Embedded Systems or Software Engineering.
• Strong hands-on C++ and Linux.
• Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles, robots, or other physical systems.
• Strong understanding of middleware, runtime infrastructure, and distributed systems.
• Experience with hardware/software integration, networking, sensors, and onboard computing.
• Hands-on experience with debugging, telemetry, logging, and production deployments.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 or robotics middleware is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 30 - 40% for field testing and deployments.
