Job summary

Brandon Consulting Associates, Inc. seeks a Lead/Principal C#/.NET Engineer to modernize a critical benefits system. You will refactor COBOL-derived code, design EF Core models against PostgreSQL, and set engineering standards while ensuring accuracy and performance.

The role starts on-site in New Jersey with a path to hybrid work, reporting to the Technical Manager. Expert-level C#/.NET experience, strong EF Core skills, and AWS familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

12–15 years of professional C#/.NET software engineering with senior/lead responsibilities.
Expert-level EF Core: entity modeling, migrations, and query optimization.
Strong PostgreSQL skills; AWS experience and Azure DevOps CI/CD familiarity helpful.
Experience modernizing legacy COBOL/JCL to C#/.NET and data migration.
Design RESTful APIs and service layers for front-end integration.

Responsibilities

Refactor converted COBOL-derived C# into idiomatic, maintainable .NET.
Own the EF Core data-access architecture against PostgreSQL.
Define coding standards and lead engineering best practices.
Mentor mid/junior developers and perform code reviews.
Ensure functional equivalence and performance within nightly batch windows.
