Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a real-time simulation software engineer to join the Simulation Platform team. You will work on a high-fidelity mission simulator built in C++20, using an ECS architecture, a stable C ABI plugin system, and embedded scripting to model hundreds of entities in realistic environments.

You will design internal APIs, optimize performance for real-time execution, and implement gRPC and DIS integrations while collaborating with model developers and GUI engineers.

Qualifications

• 3 years of professional experience with C++20 and strong C++ skills
• Experience designing internal APIs and frameworks with backward-compatibility and ergonomics
• Solid understanding of systems programming fundamentals: memory mgmt, shared libraries, ABI stability, linking
• Comfort with linear algebra and applied math
• Familiarity with Linux-based C++ development toolchains
• Ability to reason about performance-sensitive code: cache, memory layout
• Clear technical communication in a large codebase
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Model authoring tools — extend Sim frontend with UI for models
• Custom ECS architecture underpinning the simulator
• Plugin and SDK development with a versioned C ABI
• Performance and scale for real-time and faster-than-real-time execution
• Integration architecture — gRPC, DIS, networking, file recording for analysis/playback
• Support domain experts in integrating capability models
