Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep, current production experience in modern C++ (C++17 or newer).
• Experience building networked, concurrent, or real-time systems in C++.
• Strong systems fundamentals: memory layout, sockets, Linux.
• Ability to profile and optimize a real system with data.
• Experience owning ambiguous cross-cutting projects end-to-end.
• Comfortable with Go and TypeScript alongside C++.
• Strong written and verbal communication; CS degree or equivalent.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the C++ services that federate simulators into a single world.
• Own the wire layer: protocol encoding/decoding and transport.
• Make simulation runs deterministic and reproducible with time control.
• Build scenario authoring tooling for engineers and operators.
• Create content catalogs for environments and scenarios.
• Profile hot paths and manage latency/throughput under load.
• Integrate with Go services, gRPC/protobuf APIs, and the web UI.
• Set the technical direction and write design documentation.
• Partner with business lines to onboard simulators and workflows.
• Document integrations and SDKs to enable self-serve for future teams.
