Stellar Development Foundation is seeking a seasoned C++ Engineer to design and evolve Stellar Core, the backbone of the Stellar Network. You will optimize distributed systems, contribute to performance and scalability, and participate in RFC-driven design with a small, autonomous team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing software on a team.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficient in modern C++ or Rust in production.
• Strong communicator during design and code reviews.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and modularity.
• Knowledge of development tools and best practices.
• Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
• Enjoys autonomous work in a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core, the backbone of the Stellar Network.
• Design and develop robust, scalable technologies for developers and network participants.
• Collaborate on architectures with CTO, engineers, and open source contributors.
• Write clean, maintainable code with emphasis on edge case analysis.
• Own core subsystems of Stellar Core and help hit milestones.
• Participate in code review and RFC-driven design practices.
• Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks to scale the system.
• Contribute to RFC specifications and engineering best practices.
