Job summary

Applied Intuition in Washington, DC is seeking a Software Engineer for the Drone Stack team. You will design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems across hardware and software, deploying algorithms in SIL, HIL and live test environments.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of robotics experience, strong C++ skills, and hands-on experience with Pixhawk PX4/ArduPilot, ROS, and embedded Linux. US citizenship and ability to obtain clearance required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in robotics, computer science or related engineering field.
• 5–10 years of hands-on robotics experience.
• Proficiency in C++ (preferred) and experience with robotics software.
• Experience integrating autonomy/robotics products with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot and/or PX4).
• Familiarity with ROS, embedded Linux and containerized deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems across hardware and software.
• Deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL and live test environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for hardware-software integration and customer demonstrations.
• Support live flight test of autonomy software on UAVs.
• Integrate autonomy software with aircraft autopilots, datalinks, sensors, GPS/INS, GCS.
