Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer for the Drone Stack who will design and integrate autonomy and vehicle-intelligence systems across hardware and software domains. You will deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL, and live tests, interfacing with sensors, autopilots, and data links.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science or related engineering field.
5-10 years of hands-on experience with robotic systems (hardware, software, integration).
Experience with C++ programming and integrating autonomy/robotics with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot/PX4).
Willingness to travel 10–20% for on-site integration and demonstrations; US citizenship and eligibility for clearance.

Responsibilities

Adapt and develop modular autonomy capabilities across defense problems.
Integrate autonomy onto embedded Linux and hardware platforms; interface with sensors and data collection.
Troubleshoot complex integration issues for high reliability and performance.
Integrate autonomy software with hardware for aircraft autopilots, datalinks, sensors, and ground control stations.
Support live flight tests of autonomy software on UAVs; collaborate with DoD warfighter experts and 3rd party vendors.
