Job summary

Vertiv Co in Pelzer, SC is seeking a Senior Buyer to drive procurement for the Pelzer production campus. The role emphasizes managing supplier performance, ERP data integrity, inventory optimization, and working-capital efficiency while coordinating with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.

The successful candidate will lead supplier relationships, ensure PO accuracy, and support the Master Production Schedule with proactive risk mitigation and demand-driven purchasing actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years in purchasing, procurement, materials, supply chain, or manufacturing.
• Experience managing suppliers and purchase orders within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of MRP, purchasing, inventory management, and production planning principles.
• ERP experience required; Oracle experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for Pelzer production and assigned commodities.
• Review MRP requirements and convert demand into purchasing actions.
• Create, release, and manage purchase orders in Oracle in accordance with production requirements.
• Maintain PO quantities, pricing, required dates, and supplier commitments in ERP.
• Ensure purchase orders cover current and future production demand.
• Identify parts without PO coverage and take corrective action before constraints.
• Review changes in demand and expedite or adjust orders as needed.
• Balance material availability with inventory and working-capital objectives.
