Job summary

Empower seeks a Senior Business Systems Analyst to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams. You will translate requirements into UI and API details, and perform hands-on QA activities, including test case creation and execution, ensuring delivered solutions meet documented needs.

You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with product owners, developers, and QA to ensure high-quality software delivery and strong data validation using SQL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a hybrid BA/QA role.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for both UI and API development.
• Hands-on experience writing and executing test cases.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, data flows, and system integrations.
• Working knowledge of SQL and ability to validate and analyze data.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and requirements documentation tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear, structured user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
• Create clear and succinct technical requirements for UI components and API functionality.
• Develop process flows, use cases, data mappings, and system documentation to support development efforts.
• Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and traceable through the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with QA to develop test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases.
