Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a fully remote role in the United States. You will define requirements, design integration systems, and assist with cost/benefits analyses while coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

The role emphasizes API integrations, data interfaces, and troubleshooting during testing, with opportunities to mentor and improve processes. Strong SQL, FTP/SFTP, JSON, and SAML knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Six+ years in Payroll/HR industry.
• Three+ years in front-line customer-facing role.
• Experience writing business specifications.
• Experience defining software requirements preferred.
• Experience in a project-based environment.
• Knowledge of APIs and troubleshooting API integrations.
• Knowledge of data interfaces; FTP/SFTP and SQL knowledge.
• JSON, XSLT, and SAML SSO familiarity.
• EDI/XML security knowledge and B2B file transfers preferred.
• Ability to sit long hours at a desk and use computer/phone systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, model, validate, and document integration system requirements.
• Manage new integration projects and standard interfaces.
• Create, update, and communicate integration docs and user guidance.
• Explain integration options to clients and vendors; troubleshoot during testing.
• Collaborate with Sales/Implementation/Customer Service on integrations.
