This partner-facing role acts as the primary BD and marketing contact for partners, coordinating responses to proposals, events, collateral, client targeting, and media opportunities with the communications team.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of legal or professional services experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of energy and infrastructure sectors; experience in these sectors preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail and strong client focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with partners, associates, BD colleagues, and clients.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize while handling multiple deadlines.
  • Proven track record of achieving strategic objectives and allocating people/financial resources.
  • Experience with budgeting and writing business cases is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • LatAm region knowledge and Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the go-to BD/marketing resource for U.S. Energy & Infrastructure partners.
  • Respond to client proposals and coordinate involvement in firmwide initiatives.
  • Oversee sponsorships and event management; coordinate collateral creation and management.

Job description

We are collaborating with a global law firm on a Senior Business Development Manager role supporting the firm's Energy & Infrastructure practices. This role is partner facing and involves serving as the go-to for partners and others for all BD and marketing within the U.S. Energy & Infrastructure practice. This includes responding to client requests for proposals, coordination of involvement in firmwide initiatives, sponsorship and event management, collateral creation and management, client targeting exercises, coordinating of media opportunities with the communications team, thought leadership, and legal directory submissions.

Key requirements

  • 5-10 years of legal or professional services experience working in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.
  • An in-depth understanding of the energy and infrastructure sectors, with experience working in these sectors preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail and strong client focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills - with partners, key associates, and business development colleagues, and clients, including selling concepts and presenting to senior management.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively while working on multiple conflicting deadlines.
  • Proven track record of achieving strategic business objectives and using this experience to determine people and financial resources required for specific projects.
  • Experience with budgeting, including writing business cases, is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience working with the LatAm region and Spanish language skills is a plus.
