Position: Senior Business Data Analyst – Healthcare IT

Location: East Windsor, NJ

Job Description

The Senior Business Data Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, data teams, and SMEs to analyze, model, document, and manage healthcare data and system requirements. The role acts as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating complex needs into actionable insights and solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Data Analyst in US Healthcare IT projects.
2. Deep understanding of healthcare data sources such as Claims (837I, 837P), EDI, ICD-9/10, CPT, CCDA, QRDA, HL7, FHIR, EMR, SNOMED, LOINC, and HEDIS.
3. Knowledge of payer data (Member/Enrollment, Claims, Revenue) and clinical & population health data.
4. Familiarity with HEDIS, NCQA, eCQM, PQI, PDI, Meaningful Use, HIPAA, CMS systems, and quality measures.
5. Perform data analysis using SQL, generate reports, and extract insights from healthcare datasets.
6. Gather and define business and technical requirements, create data mappings and documentation.
7. Document features, workflows, and data processes to support development and implementation.
8. Define processes and specifications to improve product development.
9. Conduct UAT sessions to ensure data integrity and system quality.
10. Participate in planning and designing new applications and enhancements.
11. Develop and execute test cases to verify data accuracy and system functionality.

Required Skills:

• Experience in Business and Data Analysis within the US Healthcare domain.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, ingestion, validation, and reporting.
• Experience with ETL, interfaces, and data integration technologies.
• Expertise in healthcare data standards (Claims, HL7, FHIR, ICD, HEDIS, SNOMED, LOINC).
• Ability to create data mapping, technical, and specification documents.
• Experience in gathering requirements for healthcare applications.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or related field.
• Experience with healthcare data quality, governance, and compliance.
• Understanding of healthcare data interoperability and exchange standards.

Nice to Have:

Certification from PAHM or AHM is a plus.
