Job summary

Citi in San Jose, CA is seeking a Business Banker to proactively source, acquire, expand, and retain customer relationships while maximizing sales opportunities across an assigned Area. You will be a SME on Deposit, Credit, and Cash Management products, supporting branches end to end and collaborating with Wealth Management, Mortgage, and Consumer teams to optimize client relationships.

This full-time role requires 5–8 years’ experience, mortgage licensing readiness, and strong relationship

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience, preferably 2-5 years banking experience or 2-3 years in Business Banking.
• Exceptional consulting skills; ability to probe, listen, clarify and present information to advance sales transactions, deepen relationships.
• Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to assimilate complex financial and company operating information.
• Professional presentation skills
• Strong working knowledge of credit structuring and processing; credit trained preferred
• Highly effective communication and influence skills
• Customer oriented and responsive
• Superior organizational skills
• Mortgage loan originator registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and obtain a unique identifier before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead as the subject matter expert across a broad sales area of assigned branches.
• Partner with cross retail segment Area peers to optimize relationships and execute sales plan.
• Accountable to scorecard metrics and KPIs defined by Senior Management.
• Support the development of small business knowledge and skills in the branch area team.
• Call on assigned high-value clients to deepen relationships and retain business.
• Educate clients on products and services to grow portfolio balance and revenue.
• Manage credit requests up to $250K and collaborate with Senior Business Bankers for higher loans.
• Develop and execute an integrated sales plan to achieve scorecard results and acquisition goals.
• Adhere to sales management routines and ensure compliance with policies.
• Proactively manage portfolio and expand relationships while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Foster teamwork and Business Banking knowledge across branches to improve client experience.
