Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA invites applications for a Senior Business Analyst to join the S&T Institutional Assessments Office. You will analyze, document, improve, and help implement business and operational processes that support awards programs and deliverables.

You will work with the Director and stakeholders to map current workflows, identify gaps, develop future-state solutions, and support implementation using Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• Active DOE Q clearance or Top Secret clearance at hire.
• Bachelor's degree in business, operations, information systems, project management, or related field.
• Significant experience analyzing business, operational, or scientific processes; documenting requirements and improvements.
• Experience coordinating multi-step processes with attention to deadlines.
• Experience developing process documentation, user guidance, training materials, reports, dashboards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data analysis or metrics.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Teams, SharePoint, workflow automation, Power BI, Power Automate.
• Experience supporting assessments, executive operations, or high-visibility institutional activities.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to improve workflows and reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with stakeholders and deliver high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document current-state business processes and data flows for awards and agreements.
• Administratively manage the Director's Institutional Awards and related processes.
• Develop future-state process maps, requirements docs, implementation plans, and measures to improve efficiency and risk management.
• Identify gaps and dependency risks; implement business solutions with stakeholders.
• Gather and report data to support decision-making, forecasting, and trend analysis.
• Create reports, dashboards, presentations, and training materials for management.
• Use Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and AI tools to improve workflows and data quality.
• Lead or support process-improvement projects from scope to results.
• Partner with internal customers to clarify needs and adoption of new practices.
• Manage consultant, VSP, and non-employee agreements lifecycle.
