Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the on-site engineering team in Miami, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all building systems. You will supervise engineers, manage maintenance staff, and coordinate with property teams and clients.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance planning, budget responsibility, and contractor supervision, with on-site presence in Miami, FL. EPA certification and trade/college background are preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience in engineering leadership or similar roles.
• Trade school education or college preferred; EPA certification desirable.
• Strong communication, budgeting and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems.
• Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and development.
• Create and routinely update a documented preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance plan.
• Participate in client-facing and property team communications.
• Lead and manage the engineering budget and participate in operating budget processes.
• Assist in developing a capital improvement plan.
• Select, schedule, supervise and direct contractors; monitor performance.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls; lead safety initiatives.
• Lead ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs.
• Other duties as requested by property management or the client.
