Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee the operation of a Class A office property in Miami, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable building systems. You will lead a team of engineers and maintenance staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients and property teams to deliver top-tier facilities management.

The role requires 7+ years in similar roles, strong leadership and communication skills, and a background in commercial real estate. On-site work in Miami, FL is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer or similar.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems
• Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and personal development
• Create and routinely update documented preventive and reactive maintenance plans
• Participate in client-facing and property team communications
• Lead engineering budget and participate in operating budget processes
• Assist in developing a capital improvement plan
• Select, schedule, supervise and direct contractors; monitor performance
• Respond to emergencies and service calls
• Lead training programs for safety and operations
• Other duties as requested by property management team and/or client
