Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Chief Building Engineer to perform complex preventive maintenance and repairs across building systems, equipment, and grounds. The role includes leading operations, scheduling PM, and training staff and subcontractors.

You will ensure safety, compliance, and optimal performance of HVAC, fire alarms, and plumbing while guiding multi-discipline projects and mentoring teammates to align with CBRE RISE values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a diploma, combination of experience and education considered.
• Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills and ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Follow codes, regulations, and safety directives related to building operations.
• Lead operations, assign work orders, and train coworkers and subcontractors; arrange subcontractors as needed.
• Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Inspect building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) to ensure operation within design specs.
• Oversee work by engineering staff; ensure equipment functions and spaces are in good condition.
• Respond to emergencies and seek help when needed.
• Develop new methods to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Demonstrate expertise and mentor staff across functions.
• Lead by example and promote CBRE RISE values.
• Influence stakeholders to align on objectives across disciplines.
• Contribute to new processes and standards within the department.
