The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience, ICC Building Plans Examiner certification, and strong communication with developers, contractors, and the public.
Qualifications
- ICC Building Plans Examiner certification is required.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in building plan review and/or inspection.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License.
- Expert knowledge of IBC, IRC, and Lynnwood Municipal Code.
- Proficient in written and verbal English.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural and non-structural plan checks on residential, commercial, and public building projects.
- Review construction documents for compliance with IBC, IRC, and Lynnwood Municipal Code.
- Approve or disapprove plans, alterations, and changes; document decisions.
- Conduct field inspections for building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire service.
- Issue notices of violation and orders; document code violations.
- Communicate effectively with the public, developers, contractors, and agencies.
