Job summary

City of Lynnwood is seeking an Electrical Inspector to support the Development Services Department. You will perform electrical plan reviews and field inspections for residential, commercial, and public projects to ensure compliance with the Lynnwood Municipal Code, NEC, and WA State laws.

Qualifications

• High standard of knowledge in electrical inspection and code compliance.
• Strong communication and public-facing skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical plan reviews for residential, commercial, and public building projects
• Review electrical drawings and calculations for compliance with NEC and Washington State Electrical Code
• Approve or disapprove plans, alterations, and changes; document decisions
• Conduct field inspections for electrical systems including service entrances, panelboards, and grounding
• Issue notices of violation and orders; document code violations
• Communicate effectively with the public, developers, contractors, and agencies
• Monitor, track, and report on development status using SmartGov and Bluebeam
