Job summary

Under supervision, these positions perform building inspections, ensuring compliance with California Building Codes, local ordinances, approved plans, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans and specifications for buildings and construction and determine compliance with codes and regulations.
• Inspect construction sites during construction and alteration and interpret, explain and enforce a wide range of Uniform Building Code provisions.
• Examine workmanship and materials, detect deviations from plans and code requirements, and identify defective and unsafe construction.
