Butte County is seeking an experienced Building Inspector II for an advanced, non-exempt Extra Help role. Inspectors review residential, commercial, and industrial projects for code compliance, interpret regulations, and coordinate with designers and contractors.

The position emphasizes independent work, documentation, and customer service at the counter and field sites. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent, four years of building inspection experience, a valid US

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade; and four (4) years of construction or building inspection experience at a level equivalent to the County’s class of Building Inspector II.
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license and must obtain a California driver’s license following hire date per California DMV regulations.
• Possess and maintain a valid I.C.C. Residential or Commercial Building Inspector certificate and two or more of the following: Commercial or Residential Electrical, Plumbing or Mechanical Inspector.

Responsabilidades

• Perform advanced building inspections for residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Inspect for code compliance and interpret applicable laws, codes, and standards.
• Review plans and construction documents for code compliance and advise on corrections.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and homeowners to address deficiencies.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare clear reports of inspection findings.
