Butte County is seeking an experienced Building Inspector II for advanced inspection work in both residential and commercial projects. The role emphasizes interpreting codes, reviewing plans, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

The position is classified as Extra Help (part-time/non-permanent), with variable hours and a 5% COLA anticipated in 2027. Field inspections and public interaction are core duties.

Formación

• Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade; and four years of building inspection experience.
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license and obtain CA license after hire.
• Must possess an ICC Building Inspector certificate and two or more of Electrical/Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect complex commercial and residential structures for code compliance.
• Review plans and documents; address corrections with designers and homeowners.
• Maintain accurate records and provide customer service at work counters.
• Coordinate with plan check and engineering staff on safety requirements.
