Job summary

UES is seeking a highly experienced Senior Building Inspector/Building Inspector III to perform complex inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, zoning, and safety standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, decision-making, and the ability to work independently on large projects.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of experience.
• Active Building Inspector license (state-specific) required.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed with valid driver's license.
• Willingness to obtain ICC, NFPA, or equivalent certifications within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced structural building inspections including MEP systems, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
• Inspect foundations, slabs, framing, roofing, and other structural elements for safety and quality.
• Provide expert recommendations to contractors, engineers, architects, and stakeholders.
• Lead investigations into structural concerns, complaints, and potential violations and propose corrective actions.
• Coach, mentor, and train junior inspectors to enhance team skills and inspection quality.
• Prepare and deliver detailed reports and compliance assessments promptly.
